Global ‘X Factor’ watchers might remember Irisih starlet Janet Devlin from the 2011 British edition of the ratings smash, in which she placed fifth after wowing audiences with her covers of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’, Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ and The Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’.
Though she wasn’t signed by a major label in the wake of the show, she did release her debut album to her fans via a Pledgemusic campaign and will re-release it in Britain with new songs (and a new title) on Monday.
Here in Australia, meanwhile, the Janet Devlin campaign kicks off on Monday with the servicing to local media of her latest single ‘House Of Cards’.
It’s quite pop in its feel – no doubt down to the hand of UK songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy, who’s previously worked with the likes of the Spice Girls, S Club 7 and The Wanted, along with our own Delta Goodrem.
‘House Of Cards’ will be released in Australia on Friday June 13.
