• It’s been a couple of years since we heard new music from Shannon Noll, but that’s all about to change with the release next week of his new single ‘We Only Live Once’. There are very few details on the new track at this stage, but he gave the new track an airing at a performance in Tamworth earlier this year. It’s due for digital release on Monday.
• Tina Arena has added a Ballarat show to her forthcoming ‘Reset’ tour. The singer will play Her Majesty’s Theatre in the Victorian regional centre on Thursday October 09. Tickets are on sale now.
• Among the new tunes out and about at media this week are the new Elen Levon single ‘Kingdom’, The Aston Shuffle’s new track ‘Back And Forth’, Broods’ ‘Mother & Father’ and Stafford Brothers’ ‘This Girl’, which features appearances from Eva Simons and T.I. • There’s some good news and some bad news for fans of Swedish pop duo Icona Pop. The good news? The girls have just released a brand new single called ‘Get Lost’. The bad news? Sadly for us here Australia (and the rest of the world for that matter) it’s a Swedish exclusive.
• Speaking of new single, Hilltop Hoods are back with something new. Their new track is called ‘Won’t Let You Down’ and represents the first new music from the band in almost two years. There’s an album to come too. It’s called ‘Walking Under Stars’ and is set for release sometime later this year. ‘Won’t Let You Down’ drops digitally this Friday.
• Bob Dylan has confirmed a fourth Sydney show, this time at the iconic Opera House. After his dates at the State Theatre on September 3, 4 and 5, he’ll play the Opera House Concert Hall on Sunday September 07. Tickets are on sale on Friday July 04.
• Despite Aussie boyband 5 Seconds Of Summer nudging ahead in the midweeks, former ‘X Factor’ songstress Ella Henderson maintains her lead atop this week’s British singles chart with her debut single ‘Ghosts’. The 5SOS boys have to settle for a No.2 debut for their new track ‘Don’t Stop’, with George Ezra’s ‘Budapest’ premiering at No.4. Gorgon City’s ‘Here For You’ is new at No.7 and Demi Lovato scores a top 20 his with her ‘Neon Lights’ (No.15).
• Lana Del Rey adds a No.1 UK album to the Aussie No.1 she claimed over the weekend. Her new long player ‘Ultraviolence’ premiering in the top spot on the British albums chart ahead of Linkin Park’s ‘The Hunting Party’, which is new at No.2. Further down, Ed Sheeran’s ‘+’ bullets back to No.10 ahead of the release of his new album ‘x’ and the new deadmau5 album enters at No.14.
