Though he might not be a household name in Australia – or anywhere else in the world for that matter – the Porter Robinson story is fast gathering momentum.
Still only 21 years of age, the US-based producer has been beavering away on his music career for the best part of five years, with only limited success. But it was his remix of Lady Gaga’s ‘The Edge Of Glory’ and his subsequent 2012 single ‘Language’ that really got him noticed.
The Brits loved the latter, sending it soaring into the top ten there and setting the scene for the big things that are undoubtedly on the way.
The biggest, of course, is his debut album ‘Worlds’, which will drop in early August and which his label EMI is plugging excitedly.
Featuring vocals from Swedish outfit Urban Cone, deliciously electro new single ‘Lionhearted’ was premiered yesterday in the UK and will drop digitally on June 17, the same date the album (cover above) goes up for pre-order.
‘Worlds’ will then be released on Friday August 08.
