And here we were thinking this new Union J single was lifted from their self-titled debut album, which only dropped back in October.
But no, by gad. ‘Tonight (We Live Forever)’ is brand spanking new and will serve as the lead single from the British boyband’s forthcoming second studio album, which is set for release later this year.
And it looks like they’re busting out the big guns for the second album, with songwriting legends Diane Warren and Ryan Tedder mentioned, along with Britain’s Jamie Scott and more.
Of the new single, which is due in August, the boys said, “This track sums up what Union J are about in terms of our sound and it also reflects who we are together – a group of friends having the time of our lives. It’s a happy song that lifts our mood whenever we hear it. We’ve had an absolute blast recording new material – working with some of the world’s best songwriters and producers has been a dream come true and we can’t wait for people to hear what we’ve done.”
Though there’s been no mention from Sony Music locally about the former British ‘X Factor’ band’s new material, expect ‘Tonight (We Live Forever)’ to impact digital retail here around the same time as the UK – which is August 17.
