Nerina Pallot must have a heck of a lot of unreleased music sitting in her collection. After all, the British starlet has rather ambitiously committed to releasing a series of 12 EPs across the course of 2014, culminating in the release late in the year of a compilation of all the fan favourites, along with an entirely new album.
The EPs seem to be dropping at the end of each month at the moment and the latest, released on Monday, is the ‘When I Grow Up’ EP.
This one’s been described as “full on pop” and there’s no denying, especially with the ’80s-influenced disco pop of ‘Love Electric’, one of five new pop nuggets featured on the new release. ‘One Foot Forward’ somehow reminds us of S Club Juniors’ hit ‘One Step Closer’ and ‘Simple Life’ introduces a funky disco vibe. Something for every pop fan here, then. We likey.
