“Why does everything need to get so serious?” asks up and coming songstress Nussy. “Why can’t we just have fun?”
And with those two pointed questions, the fresh-faced Melbourne-based starlet launches what’s arguably the strongest Aussie debut single of 2014 thus far.
Produced by Michael Paynter and Michael DeLorenzis, ‘Dizzy’ bursts onto the scene with a slow-tempo retro-leaning pop realness that’s bound to leave your head spinning. And if the song itself doesn’t have the desired effect, the clip (below) certainly will.
It’s a lesson in how to make a studio-based clip interesting. Given the track’s title, Nussy can’t resist the temptation to hop on board a full-sized revolving plinth in a number of different outfits, shot from a number of different camera angles and with a number of extras. It’s great.
And if ‘Dizzy’ (out now) hasn’t quite been enough to whet your appetite, the self-titled EP, due on July 18, certainly will.
Catch Nussy live at one of the following launch shows;
