Splendour In The Grass organisers have been hit with a high profile cancellation just over a week out from the start of the three day event at the North Byron Parklands.
Two Door Cinema Club have confirmed that they’ll not be making the trip down under next week, with vocalist Alex Trimble in hospital in the UK. The singer reportedly collapsed at Seattle Airport on his way home to London and is suffering from a “chronic stomach complaint”.
“We are devastated to have to cancel this show that we were so looking forward to. We can only apologise and hope for your understanding at this time,” the band said in a statement.
With TDCC’s cancellation, changes have been made to the playing times, with City And Colour confirmed to move into the headline position.
Their position on the bill has now been filled by British indie rockers Foals, who’ll fly down under specifically for Splendour before returning home to continue their European summer touring commitments.
