Fans of 2013 ‘The Voice’ contestant Ms Murphy rejoice… brand new music from the soulful Sydney songstress isn’t too far away, with the announcement that she’ll soon release a new EP entitled ‘Stride’.
Though further details about it – including release date and tracklisting – Ms Murphy gives us a little indication as to what to expect from it.
“These new tracks are hopeful and speak of overcoming times in my life when I have been tried and tested,” she said in a statement. “The lyrics revolve around loss, which I’ve learnt leads us to find out how strong we actually are. Life experiences that are isolating are the very thing that connect us all.”
One track that does feature is a cover of Drake’s ‘Hold On (We’re Going Home)’, which doesn’t disappoint.
To launch the new music, Ms Murphy will hit the stage in the Harbour City next week for a very special one-off performance at Gingers in Darlinghurst.
Fans will get a full taste of the new EP ahead of her appearances at Soulfest in October and further live dates, including a trio of shows at each of the three Lizotte’s venues across New South Wales. Further dates are also forthcoming.
August 28 : Sydney (Gingers)
September 19 : Dee Why (Lizotte’s)
September 20 : Kincumber (Lizotte’s)
