British musician Labrinth – who’s twice troubled the ARIA top ten (first with ‘Earthquake’ back in 2011, then with ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ in 2012) – has returned with brand new music in the form of new single ‘Let It Be’.
To be released late next month, the track is the all-important lead single from his upcoming as-yet-untitled sophomore album and as such, expectations are high.
It’s a really interesting track. Yes, it oozes with soul and Labrinth’s dusky vocal, but it’s in the choruses that ‘Let It Be’ takes a turn for the interesting, with plucky instrumentation and a quirky burst of falsetto.
And it’s not just the track itself. The clip’s pretty interesting too, filmed inside a warehouse, with our leading man appearing in various locations within it and, presumably, at various stages representing the recording process. But it’s all seemingly filmed in one take. Clever.
‘Let It Be’ is due in Australia on Friday September 26.
