• Rapper Eminem has roped in the vocal talents of our own Sia for his new single ‘Guts Over Fear’, which dropped at global retailers just yesterday Australian time. The track subsequently bulleted to the upper reaches of global charts on its release and sits within the iTunes top 20 at the time of publishing this story. It’s lifted from the soundtrack from the forthcoming Denzel Washington film ‘The Equalizer’, but will also form part of a forthcoming compilation of the best of Shady Records over the past decade and a half. Entitled ‘Shady XV’, it’s out in Australia on Friday November 28.

• Nicole Scherzinger’s latest move in her music career is ‘On The Rocks’. That’s not to say it’s doomed to failure, of course… it’s the name of her new single, which she premiered on Vevo yesterday. Take a listen HERE.
• US songstress Tinashe will release her debut studio album ‘Aquarius’ in October. Calling the project, “my official album introduction to the world, representing a new season of music and art”, the album is set to feature a selection of collaborators, including Jasper, Future and Stargate. The 18 track release will hit retailers across the country on Friday October 10.
• Hilltop Hoods have revealed they’ll take to the road for an extensive run of dates as part of their ‘Cosby Sweater’ tour of the country. Kicking off in Alice Springs on October 09, the tour takes in 21 venues across the country, including an appearance at the V8 Supercars on the Gold Coast on October 25. With Thundamentals, K21 and DJ Morgs providing support, tickets are on sale from this Monday.
• Ricki-Lee has been announced as part of the line-up for this year’s series of ‘Dancing With The Stars’. The cast line-up was revealed earlier today, with her label EMI teasing us by saying, “stay tuned for exciting new music news soon”.
• Up and coming Brisbane R&B starlet Airling is gearing up for the release of her upcoming five track ‘Love Gracefully’ EP on September 19 by announcing her first ever headline shows. The trio of dates (all on the East Coast) will hit Melbourne’s Shebeen on October 17, Sydney’s Brighton Up Bar on October 18 and The Brightside in her hometown on October 24. Airling will also appear at next month’s Bigsound event in Brisbane.
• Championed by the team at Triple J and described as “one of the country’s most promising bands”, Aussie duo Holy Holy have announced the release of their third single ‘History’. To celebrate its release, the band will hit the road throughout October and November for ‘The History Tour’, with dates locked in across the country. Tickets for all are on sale now.
• Billy Idol will release his first new album in almost a decade in October. It’s called ‘Kings & Queens Of The Underground’, was produced by Trevor Horn and is preceded by lead single ‘Can’t Break Me Down’. The album drops on Friday October 17.
• David Guetta has slammed the No.1 spot on this week’s UK singles chart with his latest track ‘Lovers On The Sun’. Belatedly released in Britain, the track premieres in top spot, knocking off Nico & Vinz’ ‘Am I Wrong?’ in the process. Taylor Swift’s new single ‘Shake It Off’ debuts confidently in the No.4 position, while Australia’s own Emma Louise guests on a new Positiva club anthem called ‘My Head Is A Jungle’ by Wankelmut, which bullets from No.190 to No.5. The latest from Union J – ‘Tonight (We Live Forever)’ scrapes into the top ten with a No.9 debut.
• British boyband and winners of this year’s series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ Collabro strike while the iron’s hot with their debut album ‘Stars’, which debuts atop the UK albums chart. Ed Sheeran’s not far off the pace, however, with ‘X’ moving down to No.2. A debut at No.3 with the Couteeners’ new LP ‘Concrete Love’. Twin Atlantic’s ‘Great Divide’ is the other top ten debut for the week… at No.6.
