• Roisin Murphy has revealed the next duo of remixes from her recently-released Italian-language EP ‘Mi Senti’. As it states on the cover, part two of the remix package includes the JD Twitch Optimo Mix of ‘In Sintesi’ and the Baldelli & Dionigi Wired Mix of ‘Ancora Tu’. The digital release is due to drop on Wednesday September 10.
• New tunes doing the rounds at media this week include the new Taylor Swift single ‘Shake It Off’, revealed yesterday morning, Zeek Power’s cover of Bob Evans’ ‘Don’t You Think It’s Time’, Redfoo’s ‘New Thang’ and the new Kiesza single ‘Giant In My Heart’. • Aussie country music starlet Jasmine Rae is back with new music. Her new track is called ‘These Hands’ and it’s the follow-up to ‘Bad Boys Get Me Good’, her collaboration with US country star Kellie Pickler. Take a listen HERE. In other news, Jasmine will hit the road from early next month for a series of live appearances across the country.
• Lanie Lane is back with new music. ‘Celeste’ saw the light of day on Monday, bringing fans the first taste of new music since the singer’s ‘To The Horses’ project back in 2011. ‘Celeste’ is the first song to be released from Lanie’s upcoming album ‘Night Shade’, which will impact retailers nationally on Friday October 24.
• British singer songwriter Ryan Keen is currently in the country to support our own Kate Miller-Heidke on her national tour. But the team from Frontier Touring have managed to nab him for two very special headline performances in a couple of weeks time. Ryan will play Melbourne’s Boney on August 31 and The Vanguard in Sydney on September 01, showcasing tracks from his debut album ‘Room For Light’, which was released at the end of 2013. Tickets for both shows are on sale at 9am today.
• Brisbanites are in for a rare treat, with legendary singer songwriter Bob Dylan announcing a very special one-off show at The Tivoli as part of his upcoming tour. He’ll perform next Wednesday night in super-rare up-close mode, giving audiences a rare opportunity to see someone of his calibre in such an intimate setting.
• After bulleting from No.52 to No.1 on last week’s UK singles chart, Nico & Vinz have held on for dear life for the second week in succession with their chart smash ‘Am I Wrong?’. That said, the nearest debut to the duo was down in the No.4 position this week; from dance diva Kiesza and her new track ‘Giant In My Heart’. Props have to go to Ella Henderson, whose single ‘Ghost’ maintains its top ten heading for a tenth successive week. Ed Sheeran’s ‘Don’t’ bullets, but The Saturdays can only manage a (disastrous) No.38 debut with ‘What Are You Waiting For’.
• With Ed Sheeran still hovering in the No.1 spot, the No.4 position sees the highest debut this week; The Gaslight Anthem’s new LP ‘Get Hurt’ premiering ahead of Richard & Adam’s ‘At The Movies’ (No.5) and The Saturdays’ ‘Finest Selection : The Greatest Hits’ (No.10).
