They’ve been teasing us about it for the best part of two weeks, popping up a backwards clock on both their social media outlets and their official website, daring us to ‘Step Back In Time’. Later, there were images of a stencilled Kylie logo, hand-written lyrics and colour palettes. But what did it all point to?
Well, at midnight Australian time (yep, moments ago), the team at iconic British label PWL finally let the cat out of the Kylie bag.
They’re about to release each of Kylie’s first four studio albums in fully remastered standard and deluxe double disc/DVD set guise, along with box sets that also house a picture vinyl edition. And as you can see above, they’re pretty schmick. That said, you’ll be wanting to make sure you have deep pockets, with each of the box set releases costing £60 (just over $105 Australian dollars).
The excitement over the announcement was such that the official PWL site crashed at midnight.
PWL was the label behind the first four Kylie studio albums, ‘Kylie’, ‘Enjoy Yourself’, ‘Rhythm Of Love’ and ‘Let’s Get To It’, which between them contained some of the biggest hits of Kylie’s career, including ‘I Should Be So Lucky’, ‘Hand On Your Heart’, ‘Better The Devil You Know’, ‘The Locomotion’ and ‘What Do I Have To Do’. And let’s not forget the utterly sublime ‘Finer Feelings’.
The re-issues are due for release on Monday October 27.

Amazon UK are now taking orders for the Collectors Edition. Postage to Australia only 8 GBP. Much cheaper to order from them.

Hey Mark,
Nothing at this stage (it’s the weekend, you see), but we’ll hit Warner up this week and see what they have to say.

auspOp is there any info about local distribution? The prices are pretty insane regarding Australian shipping.

PLEASE tell me the cd editions are going to be readily available to import (I’m assuming Warner isn’t joining the party!) and not strictly limited editions that sell out and then quadruple in price on eBay. Edel records got Jason’s reissues right. I hope these are along the same lines.
