While British singer songwriter Sandi Thom hasn’t had a top 50 hit here in Australia for the past eight years (her only top ten hit remains her 2006 No.1 hit ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker’), that hasn’t stopped her from announcing live dates in Australia late next month.
The singer will arrive in the country for a date with the Mitchell Creek Rock ‘N’ Blues Festival on the Sunshine Coast on September 20 and 21 and will wrap the tour up two weeks later with an appearance at the Great Southern Blues & Rockabilly Festival in Narooma on the New South Wales South Coast.
In between those two festivals, however, there are dates in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra, with further regional dates, including an appointment with Newcastle, also in the mix.
She’ll no doubt draw from her back catalogue of work, including songs from her recently released covers album entitled (somewhat surprisingly) ‘The Covers Collection’.
Tickets are on sale now.
September 24 : Newcastle (The Depot)
September 25 : Canberra (The Abbey)
September 26 : Melbourne (Esplanade Hotel)
September 27 : Clare Valley (HATs Courthouse Cultural Centre)
September 28 : Adelaide (Trinity Sessions)
October 01 : Dee Why (Lizotte’s)
October 02 : Kincumber (Lizotte’s)
October 04 : Sydney (Annandale Hotel)

Shes a good singer, maybe she just wants to see the world and play some tunes? I would do the same. When was the last time The Rolling Stones had a number one hit or even released a decent new track?

She hasn’t had a top 50 hit anywhere on the planet since 2006. Reckon she is only on the road to get some cash in the bank because she can’t be living on her royalties.
