You may remember us mentioning at the start of last week about 23 year old Brisbane native Zeek Power and his take on Bob Evans’ overlooked single ‘Don’t You Think It’s Time’.
Essentially, Zeek’s version of the track came about via a Telstra-sponsored competition which aimed to give an under-appreciated song a second lease on life. Zeek won the competition and won not only the chance to have his version released by EMI officially, but $10,000 cash, a photo shoot and an official music video.
It’s the latter that’s featured below. It’s interesting in that although we’re unquestionably drawn to Zeek’s performance of the track in the foreground, it’s what’s happening on the blank concrete wall in the background that keeps catching our eye. There’s nothing original about it, of course… the idea’s basically a carbon copy of the original video (HERE).
But, like the song itself, the concept has been given a big refresh, a new lease on life in a completely different genre.
