It might have been a long time since Lisa Mitchell supplied us with new music (too long, many would argue), but the wait is officially over, with Lisa unveiling a brand new track called ‘Wah Ha’. And what’s more, to make up for her elongated absence, she’s decided to let the song go to all and sundry as a free download.
She describes the new song as a rebellion against societal pressure to always feel ‘OK’.
“When I play ‘Wah Ha’ to people, I notice a certain kind of lightness fills the room,” Lisa explains. “The lyric takes some weight off my shoulders. Even with the new album on the table I just couldn’t wait any longer to make contact again… Releasing ‘Wah Ha’ makes me feel a bit like ET reaching his finger out into the abyss, hoping to find another…”
It’s sublime. It feels like it may have been inspired by some of those timeless Bacharach/David tracks of the ’60s; light, bright and breezy. And free for your entertainment for a limited time only. Download below.
