Ricki-Lee has announced that she’ll release her brand new album ‘Dance In The Rain’ in just four weeks time.
It’s the fourth studio album for the singer, who’s about to appear on the new season of ‘Dancing With The Stars’, and comes off the back of the singles ‘All We Need Is Love’ and ‘Happy Ever After’, both of which feature on the new LP.
The part of the lead single will be played by ‘Giddyup’, a track we hinted about in our MIDWEEK NEWS WRAP two days ago. It’s due for release digitally in single and video guise on Friday October 03.
To celebrate the release of the new LP, Ricki-Lee will hit the stage on ‘The X Factor’ this Tuesday night for a live performance.
Another song – called ‘In The Mood’ (listen below) – will be made available as an instant grat track when fans pre-order the album from today.
‘Dance In The Rain’ will be released on Friday October 17.

As a fan, her music career has been frustrating to watch over the last 12 months, so many bizarre choices and missed opportunities. The entire campaign has made 0 sense from the beginning,
Trouble under performed (and in my opinion back fired completely in terms of how she was perceived thanks to THAT video), All we need is love was there way of trying to fix the damage that was sadly already done.
Then, they release a b-side as a single and that did nothing, NOW she has a new single Giddy Up, out in 2 weeks, yet in the mood was released last week. But better still happy ever after (essentially a b side) is being performed on x factor 5 months after it was originally released.
Who on earth is making these ludicrous decisions? I really hope DWTS can turn it around for her otherwise i fear that will be it.

It’s a shame their timing is a bit off. If they had’ve released ‘Giddyup’ last week, she could have performed that and then released the album a month later. Instead it looks like she will perform ‘Happy Ever After’.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for the album! It would be nice to see her gain more success though – for some reason, Aussie female popstars seem to have a hard time getting airplay and reasonable sales.

Poor “Come and Get in trouble With Me”.

Performing next week with no single out and the album in 4 weeks. Poor Ricki, that timing will not help her

I’ve always been a fan of Ricki, and loved Fear & Freedome, but I’m afraid this album will underperform– from memory her last album debuted at number seven and quickly fell off the charts, and that was on the back of two moderate hits (Raining Diamonds and Do it Like That). With that said, I am keen for her to tour again, her last one was fun.
