There’s always a risk in taking an extended break from the music industry in that by the time you’ve come back, a lot of your fans have moved on with their tastes, their musical idols and their lives. This risk is magnified in the world of pop, where last year’s hero artist can become a nobody overnight.
No doubt there’ll be a collective sigh of relief blowing through The Veronicas camp today; the release of their new single ‘You Ruin Me’ and the premiere of the official video (below) met with open arms by their loyal supporters, who’ve sent the track straight to the top of the iTunes chart.
The clip, filmed at Sydney’s divine State Theatre, sees the girls give a spine-tingling performance for an audience of just one… one man who it seems has done the girls wrong. The lesson in all of this? That the Veronicas are still a force to be reckoned with.

The music video is beautiful. So simple, yet stunning. I’m glad that Sony are treating The Veronicas as one of their highest priority artists — it is well deserved. It’s glad to see the song doing well, Sony are a great label.
