Mention the name Blake Lewis to most Australians and they’d have little idea who you were talking about. But some pop lovers – and fans of ‘American Idol’ – will know the singer as the second place-getter in the 2007 series of the show (behind Jordin Sparks).
He’s gone on to release three albums since, the latest of which (‘Portrait Of A Chameleon’) was released earlier this year.
The new single from it is the electro-leaning pop number ‘Retro Romance’, which now comes with an official video (below). Blake’s sense of humour is on display for all to see, along with a swag of retro memorabilia, ’80s fashion, a hulking performance, an homage to Max Headroom and a nod to ‘the force’.
It’s 100% more involving than pretty much anything we’re producing in Australia these days and what’s more… it’s independently done!
And guess what else? Blake’s offering the track up as a free download for a limited time, so best you click HERE to get your fingerless gloves on it.
