Is it just us or does ‘X Factor’ runner-up Dean Ray look slightly terrified on the cover of his upcoming debut album?
Sony Music today confirmed his signing to the label, announcing that his winner’s single ‘Coming Back’ would be released both digitally and physically today and that his debut self-titled album is incoming in late November.
Fans are already responding to the release of the single, sending it into the top ten on iTunes after its release earlier today. His album is just outside the top ten on pre-orders alone.
“I want to give a BIG thanks to ‘The X Factor’ team and Channel Seven for the opportunity of exposing my artistry,” Dean said in a statement today. “I also want to thank the public who supported me and voted, the love that I have received has been amazing and I look forward to the future and working with Sony Music. I’ve been called mysterious, intense, confusing and crazy. But at the end of the day, I’m just a guy with a guitar and a story to tell.”
Sony’s Denis Handlin was quick to sing Dean’s praises.
“Dean Ray is an extremely determined and highly captivating artist and I am excited that Sony Music will be releasing his debut single and album this November.”
Dean’s album is a simple ten tracker, featuring studio versions of songs he performed during his ‘X Factor’ journey, along with his debut single.
It’s out on Friday November 21.
