You may remember Melbourne-based songstress Fatai V from the first series of ‘The Voice’ when, at just 16 years of age, she auditioned with a rendition of ‘Songbird’.
She became part of Team Seal, made it through the Battle Rounds, was sent through by Seal in the first of the live shows and in the live show final. She made it through to the last eight, where her journey came to an end.
But that wasn’t the end for Fatai, who’s now signed to Mercury Records and, we’re told, has recently been in the studio writing with The Bamboos’ Lance Ferguson and John Castle, who’s previously worked with Megan Washington, Josh Pyke and Vance Joy.
We’re told that new music is “coming soon”, so we’re presuming audiences will get a little taste when she hits the stage for three special East Coast performances later this year. She’ll play Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with tickets going on sale from 9am today.
