Sunshine Coast star Lij Gilmour is a social media superstar.
Since appearing on ‘The Voice’ earlier this year and although he’s not signed to a major label, he’s amassed more than 30,000 Facebook likes, boasts more than 28,000 Twitter followers and has notched up in excess of 260,000 YouTube views from all over the planet.
So excitement is growing among his online throng ahead of the release of his debut EP next Friday (November 14).
The ‘Where I Stand’ EP (cover above) comprises five tracks, including ‘Saviour’, ‘All’ and a Bedroom mix of ‘Forgetting Me So Quick’, along with standard and explicit renditions of lead single ‘Hangin’ Out’, which Lij says is about a guy who has deeper feelings for a female friend than she has for him.
“Every time he makes a move, no matter what he tries to do to go from best friend to lover, it doesn’t make a difference to her and makes it obvious she sees him as nothing more than a best friend,” he says of the track.
And to celebrate the EP’s release, Lij will hit the road from later this month for a series of live appearances across the country, kicking off with a show at The Lair at Sydney’s Metro Theatre.
