British producer Mark Ronson, best known for his collaborations with top name pop talent including Lily Allen, Daniel Merriweather, Katy B, Boy George and the late Amy Winehouse, has unveiled the lead single from his forthcoming fourth studio album. And this time he’s teamed up with US superstar Bruno Mars.
Due for release in Australia shortly, ‘Uptown Funk’ certainly ups the funk and feel-good factors with ’80s licks and a ‘Play That Funky Music’-esque bassline bedded beneath Bruno’s impassioned vocals.
It’s a little bit retro, but in that regard it’s also familiar and should elicit a wave of favourable memories from those who were around in the days of big perms, fluoro and Hypercolour t-shirts.
