• They’re one of the most polarising bands on the planet, but there’s no denying there’s still plenty of love for Canadian outfit Nickelback here in Australia. Which is why the team from Live Nation will bring the band back down under in May next year for a headline tour. Arena shows are locked in for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, with general public tickets on sale from Friday November 21.
• 360 has announced the national ‘Utopia’ tour. Kicking off on the Sunshine Coast early in the new year, the swing around the country takes in 16 dates. Tickets for all are on sale now.
• Inertia artist #1 Dads (aka Tom Iansek of Big Scary fame) has announced his debut solo shows in January. He’ll play the Spiegeltent at the Sydney Festival on January 22, Brightside in Brisbane on January 23 and the Northcote Social Club on January 31.
• She jumped back up to No.1 on last week’s Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and she’s there again this week. It’s Taylor Swift and her seemingly unstoppable ‘Shake It Off’. Meghan Trainor holds at two with ‘All About That Bass’. The new Ariana Grande single ‘Love Me Harder’ is the big mover of the week, bulleting from No.24 to No.7. UK soul singer Sam Smith is on the verge of more top ten action with ‘I’m Not The Only One’, which improves to No.11.
• After her record-breaking sales figures and No.1 debut last week, Taylor Swift maintains her dominance over the Billboard 200 Albums chart for week number two. Bette Midler does alright for herself with her latest covers album ‘It’s The Girls’, which is new at No.3. Calvin Harris bags the No.3 position with ‘Motion’.
