It’s just over 24 hours before The Rolling Stones were due to take over Hanging Rock in Macedon, just north of Melbourne.
But Frontier Touring has today dropped a bombshell… tomorrow night’s show has been cancelled.
According to a press release issued earlier today, the band has cancelled the Hanging Rock show “after singer Mick Jagger developed a throat infection” and that “he is under strict doctor’s orders to rest his vocal chords for the next few days in order to recuperate for the remainder of the tour”.
A spokesman for the band said, “The Rolling Stones are incredibly disappointed to cancel the Hanging Rock gig and to disappoint their fans but were left with no other option.”
The band is looking forward to performing in Sydney, the Hunter Valley and in Brisbane from next Wednesday.
