She might be based over in New York these days, but this pop songstress was born right here in Australia, originally calling Sydney home.
Months slaving away in a friend’s basement studio resulted in a little pop nugget by the name of ‘Somebody Loves You’. And, after being featured as part of a viral wedding proposal video in a hardware store, she had labels knocking down her doors.
Our No.2 pop album of the year belong to Ms Betty Who.
“‘Take Me When You Go’ manages to sound both 1980s and modern throughout its 13 tracks,” Brad said of the album in his review last month, continuing that it “delivers the hooks in spades”.
And, with crystal ball-like foresight, he proclaimed, “We sincerely hope that this album finds its audience, as it’s a late serious contender for our top 10 albums of 2014 list.”
Wouldn’t you know it? Here it is! Our No.2 pop album of 2014 goes to Ms Betty Who for ‘Take Me When You Go’.

It’s a decent album, but I found it a bit underwhelming. I wouldn’t put it amongst the top releases of the year. The best tracks are ‘Somebody Loves You’ and ‘All Of You’.
