British singer songwriter Laura Marling has confirmed the early 2015 release of her fifth studio album, ‘Short Movie’.
The songstress made the announcement overnight Australian time, with confirmation that the new LP will see her move into a slightly different stylistic direction that will feature a bigger “electric feel”.
Lyrically, it deals with a period in Laura’s life in which she made a conscious attempt to change routine.
“I realised that I hadn’t been in place for longer than two or three weeks since I was 16,” she explains, “I thought I wonder what will happen if I try and root myself somewhere? Look back over the past eight years.”
Comprising 13 tracks in all, ‘Short Movie’ will see an Australian release on Friday March 20.
