Brisvegas. Brisneyland. Brisbane. Call it what you will, we’re big fans of the Queensland capital here at auspOp and it’s showing its alluring colours in the new video from hometown girl Meredith.
“The inspiration from the clip came from the story in the lyrics, depicting a transitioning stage in my life where I was constantly packing up a bag and heading to different homes,” she says of the two minute, eleven second nugget. “It was filmed around Brisbane in mainly industrial/urban spaces in the valley and city to create a really sterile, dull and lonely quality.”
Sterile? Dull? Brisbane? We won’t hear of it! The glimmering skyline features from up at Mount Coot-tha, there’s some night-time love for the Town Hall, a stroll across the Victoria Bridge and, according to the singer herself, a bit of time in Fortitude Valley and in a warehouse space in the CBD.
It’s like a soothing, pop-laced postcard from the Queensland capital and we rather like it.
