It’s not crash hot news to start off the new year for fans of Swedish starlet Lykke Li, with organisers of the Laneway Festival confirming a short time ago that the songstress has cancelled her appearances later this month, including her headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
Citing health reasons, the Laneway team forwarded the following statement from the singer;
“I’m incredibly sorry to announce that I’m no longer able to play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for Laneway Festival. It’s been a long time coming, but unfortunately tour life has caught up with me and it’s been recommended that I take a break. I’m devastated, but know I will return. Thank you for all the support, and I sincerely hope I can make it up to you at a later date.”
Up and coming Adelaide talent Tkay Maidza has been called upon to fill Lykke’s slot (don’t be dirty) at each of the Laneway events.
