Alison Wonderland’s DJing career took a rather sizeable step up back in 2011 when, after being crowned runner-up in a nationwide search for the country’s hottest female DJ talent, she signed a label deal with EMI.
Since then, Alison has become one of the country’s most in-demand DJs, playing the biggest parties and catching the eyes (and ears) of some of her global contemporaries (Diplo’s a big fan). But now, she’s primed to release her debut artist album.
To be released in March, ‘Run’ is a collection of diverse electronic sounds. Her label tells us that it’ll incorporate elements of “electronica, future beats, trap, dancehall to classical and pop music”.
It will, of course, feature her top 40 smash ‘I Want U’, along with her new single ‘U Don’t Know’ (featuring Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips fame), which drops at digital retailers across the country today. Other collaborators on the new LP include Djemba Djemba, rapper Johnny Nelson and Safia’s Ben Woolner.
Look for ‘Run’ at your favourite store from Friday March 20.
