The 2015 Brit Awards have just wrapped at London’s O2 Arena and it was Ed Sheeran who made the biggest impact on the night, winning the gongs for both ‘Best British Male’ and ‘Best British Album’.
In a hotly fought contest, the ‘Best British Single’ went to Mark Ronson for his Bruno Mars collaboration (and global smash) ‘Uptown Funk’, while ‘Best British Female’ went to Paloma Faith.
Despite being nominated in most of the bigger categories – and earlier success at the Grammys – Sam Smith only picked up the one big award… that for ‘Best British Breakthrough Act’. He also took home the Brits’ ‘Global Success Award’.
Royal Blood picked up the statue for ‘Best British Band’.
No love for the Aussies either, with both 5 Seconds Of Summer and Sia missing out in their respective categories, being pipped at the post by both Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift respectively.
