Here ’tis, the gorgeous new video for Daniel Johns’ new single ‘Aerial Love’.
Filmed in the Stockton Dunes just near Newcastle, Daniel explains that the weather conditions dictated a couple of tough days creating it.
“The dunes actually looked spectacular but it was all pretty intense,” he says. “The whole idea was to capture big aerial perspectives by using drone cameras that can fly by remote control. The winds were too strong in the first 24 hours though so they couldn’t film anything. We finally started shooting on the second day but it was still 35 degrees in the shade and there were lots of sandstorms. It was like we were filming one of those desert scenes from Star Wars! I felt like I needed a droid.”
If ever there was a video clip that seamlessly matches the song itself, ‘Aerial Love’ is it. It’s wonderfully stripped back, Daniel striding confidently across the sand dunes, the wind whipping at his singlet, while a couple heat things up atop the grains.
And while that’s pretty much the video summarised, it holds your attention throughout; sensual, stylish and more than a little hot; gorgeous aerial shots of the landscape intermixed with a whiff of nudity. Add in Daniel’s vocals layered on top and you’ve got a simply sublime way to spend three minutes and 40 seconds of your life.
