Pop duo Karmin, who first rose to prominence in Australia via their top ten breakout smash ‘Brokenhearted’ in 2012 (and who scored a second top ten hit here with ‘Acapella’ a year later) are back with a brand new music.
And it’s proof that, despite now plying their trade in the wilds of pop independence, Amy and Nick are still very much at the top of their game.
New single ‘Sugar’ hooks us in with a good groove, has elements of acapella, a little bit of rap and a video (below) that looks like it had more spent on it than most major labels’ releases of late.
Put plainly, Karmin still knows how to make great pop.
The clip hooks us in right from the get-go with the camera affixed to a man on a couch. He receives a text message telling him he needs to deliver a parcel to someone. He sets about doing so and we begin to follow him through the streets of the city as he journeys to make the delivery.
Meantime, Amy and Nick (looking flawless as always) ply their trade in the studio.
