Undoubtedly one of this country’s most celebrated and revered producers, Paul Mac is on track to launch his forthcoming studio album ‘Holiday From Me’ in a slightly unorthodox way… on a train.
Armed with a big love of the transport mode, Paul will whisk a train-load of lucky punters away to a secret location where they’ll enjoy food, drinks and, naturally, a soundscape of tunes from Paul’s long-awaited new album.
“Trains are inherently forward moving. They don’t go backwards, they reveal a constantly changing range of vistas, landscapes and time-lapse landscapes in a general rhythmic soundtrack wrapped in metal. It’s a pre-determined pathway both inherently futuristic and fatalistic,” says Paul of his choice to launch on a train.
The Paul Mac express is set to depart from platform one at Sydney’s Central Station at 7pm on Wednesday April 08. Where it’s headed, only those connected with the project know.
Tickets for the launch are on sale now; ‘Holiday From Me’ is out on Friday April 10.
