As we mentioned a few weeks back here on the site, former Westlife star Markus Feehily is finally dipping his toes into the solo waters, due to release his debut single ‘Love Is A Drug’ in the middle of next month.
Co-penned and produced with Steve Anderson and MoJam (producer) and Tinashe Fazarkerley (writer), the new single was premiered on former bandmate Nicky Byrne’s Irish radio show last month and, ahead of its slated April 17 release here in Australia, the official video premiered late last night Australian time.
Like the cover of the single (pictured), the clip is bathed in red and other warm tones; all dark and moody.
Musically, the single bursts to life with those classic Brothers In Rhythm strings Mister Anderson’s so famous for, before bursting to life with a suite of classy instrumentation (think Emeli Sandé’s spectacular ‘Heaven’), gospel tinges and the most impressive vocals this side of whatever Sam Smith belted out last.
‘Love Is A Drug’. And if this lead single is any indication, Mister Feehily, we’re already completely addicted.
