New music from jazz/pop chanteuse Melody Gardot has been three years in the making.
Though the US singer first appeared onto the scene via her 2008 debut album ‘Worrisome Heart’, it was with her spectacular 2009 album ‘My One And Only Thrill’ that she really hit her straps. 2012’s ‘The Absence’ was less successful, but still gave us an opportunity to again venture into Melody’s world.
Now she’s back with album number four, ‘Currency Of Man’, once again reuniting with the chap behind her 2009 LP, Larry Klein.
First taste, ‘Same To You’ (below), is instantly familiar, which may help or hinder the singer’s ambitions, depending on which side of the Melody fence you sit upon, but it’s so lovely to hear that voice again.
‘Currency Of Man’ will be made available in ten track standard and 15 track ‘Artist’s Cut’ editions in Australia on Friday May 29.
