British trio Muse have revealed they’ll release their seventh studio album ‘Drones’ at the start of June.
Confirmation of the new LP came overnight, with the band unveiling the cover image and tracklist (below).
Frontman Matt Bellamy explained what the album’s all about in a statement released to the media.
“To me, ‘Drones’ are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behavior with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. ‘Drones’ explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”
The first track from the album, ‘Psycho’, will emerge in the early hours of tomorrow morning Australian time, followed by the first official single ‘Dead Inside’ in the week commencing March 23.
Though it’s not been confirmed for Australian release at this stage, expect ‘Drones’ to drop locally on Friday June 05.
