It’s been an increasing trend across recent years; countries turning to the winners of their reality TV competitions to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Belgium will follow suit in 2015, sending 18 year old performer Loïc Nottet along for the first of the semi finals in the hope of bringing home Europe’s ultimate prize.
Loïc was the winner of his country’s edition of ‘The Voice’ last year (so it’s clear he already has support at home) and he’ll be performing ‘Rhythm Inside’, a track he co-wrote.
It’s a really interesting beast, actually. A little bit different musically to a lot of the mainstream R&B/pop we’ve heard so far and with lyrics (and video) that encourage you to embrace your individuality. It might just strike a chord with the voting public.
We expect it to make it through to the Grand Final on May 23. Dix points.
