It’s just over a month before the eyes of Europe will be affixed on Vienna, Austria for the first of the semi finals in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
As such, our Countdown To Eurovision is on once again, as we take a look at each of this year’s entries.
Today we’re putting the Icelandic entry under our pop microscope; an entry entitled ‘Unbroken’ that the tiny Northern European nation hopes will deliver them glory at the Grand Final.
21 year old María Ólaf is the chosen one. She’ll perform the single in the second of the semi finals and, on first listen, we reckon she’s a shoo-in to take Iceland to the Grand Final on May 23.
‘Unbroken’ is an instantly likeable pop track which, if it belonged to either Demi Lovato or perhaps Selena Gomez, would be a big fat hit across the planet. i.e. It has oodles of universal appeal.
Yes, we’ve only covered two songs thus far in our countdown, but we have a sneaking suspicion this’ll be up there among our favourites. Huit points.
