It doesn’t really matter what the Lithuanians offer up this year really, because they’re going to have their work cut out for them to proceed through to the grand final, being first ones up in the second of the semi finals, to be held in Austria on May 21.
It’s a shame that someone has to go first, because unless they burst out of the gate with fireworks, dancers and an electrifying performance, no-one’s really going to remember the song by the time the other 16 acts following have had their turn.
Which is a shame, particularly for Monika, who’s tried to represent Lithuania at Eurovision for the past six years. It’s also a shame, because ‘This Time’ is quite a lovely little acoustic pop ditty that deserves its time in the sun. Neuf points.
