No, it’s not Amber of ‘This Is Your Night’ or ‘Sexual (Li Da Di)’ fame… this is Maltese songstress Amber Bondin who, after a succession of singles in her homeland over the past four years, has been selected to represent her country in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.
Amber will take to the stage in the second of the semi finals – on Thursday May 21 – to perform her single ‘Warrior’.
It’s a big, dramatic pop ballad, with sweeping strings and soaring vocals… the kind of track voters are usually falling over themselves to ensure gets through to the next round. But though ‘Warrior’ is quite decent in its own right, we’ve heard stronger songs thus far, so we’re not completely convinced it’ll move through to the final. Six points.
