This (left) is Ian Thomas. The name might not be familiar to us Aussies, but in his homeland of Belgium, he’s a bit of a big deal right now, after his new single ‘Cheers’ premiered in the No.1 spot on his country’s singles chart after just 24 hours on sale.
Working with Californian rapper Tyga on the track, it’s clearly got international appeal and Australia is next to get in on the action.
“It was an amazing experience to work with a talented artist like Tyga,” Ian said in a statement. “I know how busy he is right now so I am grateful that the found the time and wanted to be a part of this single. Tyga has always been one of my favorite rappers.”
The track was serviced to Aussie media last week in the hope of breaking him here too. And the 18 year old’s fortunes may take a turn for the better shortly, with confirmation that he’s due on the ground early next month for a short promotional visit (cue screams).
