No, as far as we’re aware, up and coming British starlet Bianca (who, let’s not deny it, bears more than a little passing resemblance to one Cher Lloyd), isn’t paying homage to Australia’s premier kids group Hi-5 on her new single of the same name.
But the song’s rather marvellous. It’s certainly very pop; slightly timeless pop that is polished, assured and international in its appeal.
Not surprising then that she cites Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Pat Benatar among her influences.
‘Hi-5’ is the lead single from Bianca’s forthcoming five track EP of the same name.
It’s also set to comprise the previously-released ‘Step It Up’ (also in Newman remix guise), along with ‘We Belong’ and ‘Robbers’.
And we’ve had it confirmed by her UK-based publicists that her independent label plans to release the EP globally, so look for it at our local iTunes store from Sunday May 17.
