How in the world did this one pass us by?
After breaking the news that Natalie Imbruglia was returning with new material in the coming months (her new album ‘Male’, don’t you know), the pop starlet has lifted the lid on the video for its lead single ‘Instant Crush’.
As you’ll also probably be aware by now, ‘Male’ is a covers project with a difference; on it, Nat tackles a selection of tracks that were originally recorded with a male vocal and tips them on their heads by mixing things up. ‘Instant Crush’ is a two year old Daft Punk song, originally vocalled by The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas.
And it’s pretty darned good, we have to say. In the clip, she plays that traditional Stepford wife who just wants everything to be entirely perfect for her man. But it would appear he’s completely disinterested.
