There has to be something in the water in Brisbane, because the rate that exciting new artists are bursting forth from the Queensland capital right now is pretty scary. Naturally, we count cln in that mix.
The 20 year old has just dropped the next taste of his upcoming EP release, with the shimmering slow jam ‘Left Behind’. Warped vocals, surging electro sounds and a slow, pulsing beat are just the beginning in a track the producer says was inspired by the music of Canadian outfit Caribou.
“I wanted to bring ‘Left Behind’ back to a point where the instrumental was the focus again, rather than the vocals. I also wanted to experiment with restraint and a sort of continuous build up – it was difficult to restrain myself from just throwing everything at the first drop, but I’m really glad I did.”
You can also grab the track as a free download for a limited time only via the Soundcloud link below.
cln’s ‘Found’ EP is currently slated for a July release, but you can get a taste in the live arena, with shows locked in for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in the coming weeks. Here’s where to catch him.
