• The ladies from Little Mix are ready to weave their magic over the charts once again, via their new single ‘Black Magic’. The UK four piece unveiled the cover image (left) for the new tune on their socials late last week; it’s currently due for a local release on Friday May 29.
• After many false starts, it looks like Australians will finally be able to get their hands on the Rixton album ‘Let The Road’ within weeks. It’s re-appeared on the iTunes store for pre-order, with Universal confirming via their latest release schedule that it’s good to go down under on Friday June 05.
• Owl City’s latest album ‘Mobile Orchestra’ has also popped up in the list of pre-orders. Though the US producer has never really got back to the dizzying success of his breakout smash ‘Fireflies’ on the singles side of things (closest, of course, with ‘Good Times’), his album releases continue to pepper the US albums chart. ‘Mobile Orchestra’ will drop here on Friday July 10.
• Tyler, The Creator has announced a run of Australian dates as part of his ‘Cherry Bomb’ world tour. The hip hop star will perform shows in Brisbane (The Tivoli), Sydney (Luna Park Big Top), Melbourne (Forum Theatre) and Perth (The Capitol) from September 03, with tickets for all dates on general sale from 10am local time on Tuesday May 26.
• Uberjak’d is heading home for a series of live dates as part of his ‘Uberjak’d & Mates’ Tour. Supported by Savage and JaySounds, he’ll kick the tour off at Academy in Canberra on May 29 before making stops in Sydney, Magnetic Island, Darwin, Adelaide, Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. He’ll then head off to Asia and Europe to keep spreading the Aussie bounce love.
• It’s another week on top for Omi’s ‘Cheerleader’ on this week’s UK singles chart. But LunchMoney Lewis gave it a good crack, premiering at No.2 with his international smash ‘Bills’. Also new in the British top five this week is Galantis’ Aussie chart stormer ‘Runaway (U&I)’, premiering at No.4.
• And Mumford & Sons have held onto their No.1 position for a second successive week after debuting in the top spot with ‘Wilder Mind’ last week. There was only one debut in the top ten – Eric Clapton’s ‘Forever Man’ at No.8 – and all but Ed Sheeran and Sia shuffled northwards.
