Melbourne purveyors of pop beats Back Back Forward Punch have been peppering us with their stylish pop beats over the past few years, more often than not offering their tasty aural treats up as free downloads.
And, with the release of their debut EP now on the horizon, they’re doing it all over again with their latest single ‘No Answer’.
The soundtrack is made up of all sorts of fruity tropical-flavoured pop beats, but the lyrical content is a little less sunshiney; vocalist Laura singing of dealing with the struggles of indecision.
“When we started writing ‘No Answer’, the sounds were light and tropical and fun, but as the vocals and lyrics developed, we realised this song had some dark undertones,” the band said in a statement. “If ‘No Answer’ was a postcard it would picture a tropical island with a storm rolling in, and on the back it would be blank.”
So a juxtaposition of dark and light, it seems. It’s also free for a limited time via the band’s Soundcloud page. Listen, love and nab the track below.
