Former ‘The Voice’ favourite Luke Kennedy has announced the forthcoming release of a new EP.
But the singer, who launched himself into the spotlight as part of Team Ricky on the 2013 edition of the competition and went on to score a top ten album, needs his public’s help to finance the final stages of its creation.
Entitled ‘Skin & Scars’, it’s been co-penned with the very talented Mark Sholtez and is scheduled for release sometime in September.
“Coming off ‘The Voice’, I thought the biggest question I had to answer was, ‘what is my sound?’,” the singer says of the new project. “I’ve made a career out of being versatile, so nailing down a genre seemed like a daunting task. Then I met Mark Sholtez, and he asked me not ‘How do you want to sound?’ but ‘What do you want to say?’. That question was the inspiration for the title track ‘Skin & Scars’ and the cornerstone for the ‘Skin & Scars’ EP. Featuring all new original material co-written by Mark Sholtez and myself, it’s exposed, it’s intimate, it’s honest.”
Pledges start at $10 and go all the way up to $5000 for a one hour set performed in your very own home.
