US duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis burst out of the blocks here in Australia with their smash single ‘Thrift Shop’ at the end of 2012.
Though the song premiered at No.28, it quickly found itself in the No.1 position and stayed there for seven impressive weeks, staying in the top ten for a further five.
The boys then followed that up with ‘Same Love’, another No.1 smash (four weeks) in January 2013 and again with ‘Can’t Hold Us’, which also peaked in the top spot in March the same year.
Though it wasn’t just here that audiences fell in love with them, Australia remains the only territory to have gifted them three No.1 hits.
Could we make it four with ‘Downtown’, their just-released new single which was released overnight?
It’s got plenty of appeal, a pretty sensational video (below) and a soaring chorus, with vocals provided by Foxy Shazam frontman Eric Nally.
