Reece Mastin has this morning revealed that his third studio album is to be called ‘Change Colours’ and that it will be released early next month.
We’re told that the new album will unveil a much rawer side to Reece’s music trajectory, with a musical focus less on the pop mainstream and more on the rock – a move that’s sure to delight his legion of Lil’ Rockers.
Mainly recorded in Jimmy Barnes’ own studios in Sydney, the album features a guest cameo from the legendary Australian performer himself, along with guest appearances from Mark Lizotte (aka Diesel) and The Living End’s Chris Cheney.
The lyrical content too, looks set to be much more personal.
“It’s been very organic and therapeutic for me,” Reece says of the new album. “Because lyrically there’s a lot of stuff in there that I needed to talk about. When I sing it, I can put more passion into it because it’s honest, it’s real, it’s things that actually happened. There’s no point in me lying to my fans because they’re the ones buying the music and they want to hear about what I’m going through, they deserve the truth. Everyone has their own struggles and experiences, I don’t want to pretend.”
Available for pre-order from today, ‘Change Colours’ will be released on Friday October 09.
