It might have been a whole year since Missy Higgins last toured Australia, but audiences won’t have to wait too much longer to see her on-stage again.
Already confirmed as part of the line-up for next year’s Twilights series at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, the Peninsula Picnic on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and Skyfields in Tasmania on March 19, she’ll also perform a one-off show at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Wednesday February 17 and will appear at the Riverboats Music Festival in Echuca (in northern Victoria) on February 21.
And it seems Missy can’t wait to get back on the stage.
“For the whole of this year I’ve been experiencing life as a first time Mum, and it’s been incredible, but I really can’t wait to get out of the house and play a few gigs,” she says. “I’ve actually been writing a lot of songs lately so I’m looking forward to trying a few of them out at these gigs along with all the others of course. Either way, it’ll be nice to sing something other than ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ for a change!”
Tickets for the Melbourne show are on sale from 9am AEDT this Friday.
